WIGWAM YOUTUBE CHANNEL

I've had hours and hours of fun finding videos on youtube which help get across what WIGWAM's all about - from MGMT covering Talking Heads, to mad Kuduro dance moves, to that new poptastic Noisettes single that sounds like a Kid Creole for the 21st century......it's all about lovely Afro / Latino dancefloor rhythms meeting a New Wave / Punk / Acid House / D.I.Y. ethic and making something new...

There's 200+ videos in the favorites section - enjoy!

Afro & latin rhythms meet post punk & new wave disco 1975-Beyond.

Doors 7.30 - Thursday 23rd April @ Proud, Camden.

After hearing loads of NEW music that reminds me of my favourite OLD music, I decided to put on a night and throw it all together in a lovely big mess of PUNK FUNK, AFRO ELECTRO / TECHNO, AND NEW WAVE DISCO. here's a playlist to help you get the idea:

Kid Creole & The Coconuts / Thompson Twins / Gramme / Bow Wow Wow / Liars /Stricken City / Orange Juice /M.I.A. / The Slits / The Pirannahs / Lilliput / Delta 5 / Basement 5 / Erase Errata / Santogold / ESG / Battles / MoodyMann /Vampire Weekend / Loose Joints / Shriekback / Lizzy Mercier Descloux / Telex /Tom Tom Club / X-Ray Spex / The Clash / Liquid Liquid / The Names / Campag Velocet / Gang Of Four / Zazoe Bikaye / African Head Charge / Zdar / Yello / Wunmi / Who Made Who / Tantra / Spandau Ballet / Souxsie & the Banshees / George Kranz /Ray Mang / Rockets / Eddy Grant / Manu Dibango / Zongamin / Afefe Iku / Kissing The Pink /In Flagranti / Gina X / Wally Badarou / Faze Action / Radioclit / Anna Domino / Azoto / Barabas / Black Uhuru / Brodinski / Konk / C-Cat Trance / A Certain Ratio / Cari Lekebusch / Charanga '79 / Paper Clip People / Chaz Jankel / Chicken Lips / Culture Club / Brazilian Girls / Cybotron / Dennis Ferrer / Buraka Som System / Lee Scratch / Dr John / Freeblood / Dubtribe Soundsystem / Fela Kuti / Toddla T / Grace Jones / Haircut 100 / Mock & Toof / Isolee / Kleeer / Konga's / Medium Medium / Laidback / LCD / Map Of Africa / Martha & The Muffins / Perfect Zebras / Red Planet / Essential Logic / Can / Mickey Moonlight / Yothu Yindy / Rusted Root/ Octave One / Hector Zazou / Blancmange / Candido / HolyGhost! / Toto Coelo / Fuzz Against Junk / The Invisible / Nitzer Ebb / BIG PIG / PIG BAG / etc. etc.

On the night we have a very special live percussion set from DAVE BARBAROSSA of Adam & The Antz / Bow Wow Wow fame- the Man behind all those amazing drums... I Want Candy, Dirk Wears White Sox... a legend.

Talking of legends... I'm also very proud to announce RUSTY EGAN, original Dj at New Romantic club THE BLITZ... Rusty is also a drummer, was a key collaborator with Visage, and responsible for classic Balearic 12" Burundi Black 'Burundi black' - He was also THE selector down at the Camden Palace back in the day - so he is back playing on home turf !

If this wasn't enough I've roped in my favourite DJ on the planet - Mr ANDREW WEATHERALL - doing a special 9 o'clock drop style set, he does this sound better than anyone I know, and this will be a treat.

Next up I have the best new DJ i've heard in about 10 years... Neil Dunn aka 'Phoreski' - After doing the balearic/trainspotter thing obsessively since '88 and all that, I considered myself knowledgeable-ish on all things chugging and cosmic..... then I DJ alongside Phoreski and he has me asking what every track is ....I don't know a thing he's played, but it's the best set I've heard in ages.... Add to this his awesome productions and you have a star in the making. If you haven't heard PHORESKI spin yet - then now is the time.

Alongside this lot - I will be doing a special DUBS DEX & FX DJ set, dusting off the guitar pedals and tape delays with my RAT SALAD re-edit partner Rupert Lyddon of Grand National, and our 'Jam Jah' Jamaican MC -TROY FORTRESS.

So people.... dig out your pegs, waffle jumpers, facepaint, frizzy fringes & jumpsuits..... Rest a hat with a really big peak on the back of your head.... And head down to W I G W A M for some real fun !
